The color version of the 10th Mountain Division Sustainment Brigade Shoulder Sleeve Insignia (SSI-MOHC) is currently worn on the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) on either the left or right sleeve depending whether it represents the wearer's current organization (left) or a unit in which the wearer had previously served in during combat conditions (right). It was previously worn (following the same wear guidance) on the old Army Green Uniform, and its design is used to create a Combat Service ID Badge (CSIB), if applicable, for wear on the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU).
It is replete with our national colors of red, white, and blue, while the pole star is rendered in buff, the traditional color of Support units. The polestar's four compass points denote the worldwide scope of the Brigade’s missions of Supply, Maintenance, Transportation, and Medical Services. Snow-peaked mountains are an allusion to the mountaineering training and activities associated with the Fort Drum area, home to the Brigade and the 10th Mountain Division. Crossed red bayonets are taken from the insignia worn as the 10th Division Support Command (DISCOM), and from the shape of the Roman numeral “X” to indicate the unit’s numerical designation.
We refer to the subdued versions (OCP and UCP) of the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia "ACU Patches because they are most often worn on the Army Combat Uniform (ACU). The OCP version of the patch is worn only on ACUs and other utility uniforms that were manufactured using the Universal Camouflage Pattern, obsolete for wear by active Army personnel since 2019.
