The 220th Military Police Command Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, or unit patch, was originally approved in May 1986 while the unit was still designated as an MP brigade; it was redesignated and its description and symbolism revised when the unit became an MP Command on 1 September 1992.
A green scale of justice and golden borders incorporate the Military Police branch colors of green and yellow. In addition to the scale of justice, the interior of the arced rectangle has three red stars and two red bars rendered on a white field. An upright sword serves as the balance bar on the scale of justice, symbolizing the dual objectives of the MP mission—armed security duty and law enforcement (these responsibilities fall under the penumbra of the unit motto "Peace Law Order"). The stars and bars taken from the flag of the District of Columbia, the Command’s home area, and were originally found on the Washington family coat of arms.
The 220th Military Police Command was inactivated sometime in the mid-2000s.
