Headquartered in Indianapolis, the 310th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary) is an Army Reserve unit whose core mission is to provide an Operational Command Post for the 377th Theater Sustainment Command. It is tasked with planning, synchronizing, coordinating, monitoring and controlling operational-level Sustainment operations (except Medical) for the Army Service Component Command, Joint Task Force, or Joint Forces Command.
The 310th Sustainment Command Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, or unit patch, was originally approved on 9 February 1956 for the 310th Logistical Command, which was constituted in the Organized Reserve Corps on 29 August 1950 and activated at Fort Myer, Virginia on 8 September 1950.
The unit underwent numerous redesignations and reorganizations, but the insignia was not necessarily redesignated each time. Unit designations for which this insignia were approved include 310th Field Army Support Command (1968), 310th Support Command (Theater Army Area — 1982), and of course the current designation of 310th Sustainment Command (Expeditionary), also known as 310th ESC.
