Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been
authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
Enlisted personnel wear the insignia centered on a shoulder loop by placing it an equal distance from the outside shoulder seam to the outside edge of the shoulder-loop button. Officers (except Generals) wearing grade insignia on the shoulder loops center the DUI by placing it an equal distance between the inside edge of the grade insignia and the outside edge of the button.
Full guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e),
"Beret" and
"Garrison Cap," respectively.

Today a part of the United States Army Reserve, the 330th Regiment was originally organized as the 330th Infantry in August 1917 and was assigned to the 83rd Division as part of the 155th Infantry Brigade. It earned a Campaign streamer for its service in World War I, but uncertainty regarding areas of engagement resulting in the streamer being left blank. Following the war, it was reconstituted in what was then known as the Organized Reserves as the 330th Infantry and assigned to the 83rd Division (redesignated later as the 83rd Infantry Division. Activated for Federal service in 1942, the 330th Infantry went on to earn official credit for participation in five named campaigns: Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe.
In 1952, the unit’s ties to the 83rd Infantry Division came to an end when it was re-assigned to the 70th Infantry Division, and in 1959 was reorganized and redesignated as the 330th Regiment, which was an element of the 70th Training Division. As a Regiment, it has consisted at times of Battalions from the 70th Division (1968 to 1996), the 84th Division (Institutional Training, 1996 to 2004), the 100th Division (Institutional Training, 2004 to 2007), and 98th (2007 to 2008).
Currently, the 330th Regiment consists of three Battalions that fall under the command of the 4th Brigade, 95th Training Division. The 1st Battalion is located at Fort Wayne, Indiana; the 2nd at Forest Park, Illinois; and the 3rd in Waterford, Michigan.” The unit motto, the Latin phrase “VERUS AD FINEM,” means "True To The End."
