The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, or unit patch, worn by the personnel of the 336th Finance Center was originally authorized for the 336th Finance Command on 23 January 1995. It was redesignated for the 336th Finance Center on 14 June 2007, but according to The Institute of Heraldry it was subsequently cancelled just six months later (6 December 2007) “per HQDA, G-1 direction and change of policy.”
Silver gray and golden yellow are associated with “hard” money (gold and silver) and have been the branch colors of the Finance Corps since 1920. A blue fleur-de-lis in the center of the round patch is a reflection of the unit’s history and its longtime operating area of Lake Charles, Louisiana; this is also celebrated in the unit motto of "Cajun Gold." The gold diamond-shaped object over the fleur-de-lis is called a “lozenge” in the world of heraldry and is adapted from the Finance Corps branch insignia, which features a solid gold lozenge.
