Often referred to as a unit crest or DUI for short, the 363rd Quartermaster Battalion Distinctive Unit Insignia was originally approved for the 363rd General Support Group on 28 March 1972 and was redesignated for the 363rd Support Group on 11 July 1972. The insignia was then give its current designation for the 363rd Quartermaster Battalion, featuring a revised description and updated symbolism, with an effective date of 16 September 2000.
“Support For Combat,” the unit motto, has been applicable for the organization despite its changing designations since all served in some type of Support role. A chevron in the center is longtime heraldic symbol of support and emphasizes the basic mission of the unit. Gold spears thrusting upward simulate rays of sunlight that represent guidance as well as control and guidance of the operations of the organization and its subordinate units. If you count the number of spears in each group from left to right, you get 3-6-3, the numerical designation of the unit.
Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 363rd Quartermaster Battalion is an Army Reserve unit based in San Marcos, Texas. It is assigned to the 300th Sustainment Brigade, 4th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, 377th Theater Sustainment Command.
