U.S. ARMY 425TH TRANSPORTATION BRIGADE PATCH (SSI)
The 425th Transportation Brigade is an inactivated Army Reserve unit formally based at Fort Sheridan, Illinois that deployed to Kuwait in support of Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Other service records for the Brigade are not available through readily accessible public records.
Approved on 25 February 1972, the color version of the Shoulder Sleeve Insignia of the 425th Transportation Brigade is crafted in the branch colors of the Transportation Corps, brick red and golden yellow. A golden yellow “rim” with diagonal bands in the shape of a saltire, joined by a band in the center, simulates a motor vehicle’s steering wheel as a reference to the motor transport provided by the unit. The intersecting yellow bands also are a reference to roadways or highways, and combined with the back rectangles they denote transportation of cargo and personnel via motorway or other line-haul operations.
