The 333rd Military Police Brigade is an Army Reserve unit headquartered in Farmington, New York. A subordinate unit of the 200th Military Police Command, the Brigade exercises command and control over several Military Police Battalions located in the northeastern and midwestern United States, including but not limited to the 310th (Orangeburg, New York), 336th (Pittsburgh) 340th (Ashley, Pennsylvania), 400th (Fort Meade, Maryland), and 744th (Easton, Pennsylvania). From 1984 until 2012, the unit was designated the 800th Military Police Briagde; since its redesignation, it was awarded a Meritorious Unit Commendation (August 2014).
The Shoulder Sleeve Insignia of the 33rd Military Police Brigade was originally approved back in April 1985 while the unit was still designated as the 800th Military Police Brigade. Colored exclusively in the Military Police Colors of yellow and green (except for subdued versions, of course), the insignia’s overall shape recalls an axe-head, which is a symbol of security and authority. The oak leaf in the center is a reference to the oak trees around Fort Ord, California, which is where the unit was originally activated in June 1942. An upright, unsheathed sword stands for military strength and law enforcement.
"Vires In Arduis," Latin for "Strength In Difficulties," is the Brigade's motto and is found on its Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI—link below).
