The United States Coat of Arms, taken from the ob-verse of the Great Seal of the United States, is used as basis for the cap device for the Service Cap worn by both Officers and Enlisted Airmen in the United States Air Force—but not all personnel wear identical devices. Use the drop-down selection boxes to select the appropriate cap device for your needs.
Gender: The Air Force authorizes women to wear the men’s Service Cap, so here the word words “Female” and “Male” refer to the type of Service Cap and not necessarily the gender of the wearer. The device for the women’s Service Cap has a pin-back attachment more suited for placement on the hatband worn on that cap.
Rank: Cap devices for Officers are simply the Coat of Arms, while the Enlisted device places the Coat of Arms inside a circle. The design that was obviously inspired by the Air Force’s “parent” branch of the Army: Its enlisted cap devices feature the Coat of Arms on a disc.
Finish: Choose High Relief for a device that has much greater level of detail that the standard mirror-finish insignia.
