October 18, 2014 marked the official reorganization of the Special Troops Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division as the 334th Brigade Engineer Battalion. The transition was made as part of the Army’s move to create brigades that are self-contained combined-arms formations. Two Engineer companies were added to the unit, along with Military Intelligence, Signal, and Forward Support Companies.
The Distinctive Unit Insignia of the 334th Brigade Engineer Battalion was originally approved for Special Troops Battalion, 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team, 34th Infantry Division. It features the unit motto of “Ante Up All In”—a catchy way of saying that the battalion is totally committed to fulfilling all its responsibilities to ensure the brigade can achieve all its mission goals. This dedication to duty is reflected in the 2010 award of a Meritorious Unit Citation for the battalion’s superior performance during a 22-month deployment in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, sixteen months of which were spent in continuous operations.
In 2014, this Distinctive Unit Insignia, commonly known as a unit crest or a DUI for short, was redesignated for the 334th Brigade Engineer Battalion.

The Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
