Based entirely upon the design of its Shoulder Sleeve Insignia–Military Operations In Hostile Conditions (SSI–MOHC) insignia, the Distinctive Unit Insignia of the 11th Military Police Brigade employs a green-and-yellow color scheme in keeping with the traditions of Military Police unit emblems and insignias. The centerpiece of the design is an unfurled scroll revealing two columns; scrolls have long been the symbol of legal decrees and edicts, which the organization is tasked with upholding. The columns simulate the number 11, the unit’s numerical designation. The keys to successful Military Police actions is found in the unit motto: "Command, Plan, And Control."
Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however. More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1, Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively. The 11th Military Police Brigade is a U.S. Army Reserve unit assigned to the 200th Military Police Command. As of Autumn 2023, it is headquartered at Los Alamitos, California and exercises command control over six Military Police Battalions.
