U.S. ARMY 195TH REGIMENT UNIT CREST (DUI)

The 195th Regiment Distinctive Unit Insignia was first approved for the 195th Infantry Regiment, New Hampshire National Guard on 30 October 1953. It was then redesignated for the 941st Armored Field Artillery Battalion, New Hampshire National Guard on 7 February 1956, but was subsequently rescinded on 8 April 1963. It was reinstated in June 1997 and redesignated for the 195th Regiment, New Hampshire Army National Guard.

A blue and white shield and a red chief pays of its DUI pays tribute to the 195th Regiment’s dual roots as an Infantry unit and an Artillery organization. Blue and white are traditional Infantry colors, with white serving that role for almost the entire period from the time of the Revolutionary War until 1903; red has always been an Artillery, and the inclusion of five Artillery projectiles signifies that the organization earned five battle honors (Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes-Alsace, and Central Europe) while serving as an Artillery unit in World War II.

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.

Since 1997, the 195th Regiment has operated, managed, and overseen the New Hampshire National Guard Regional Training Institute (RTI) located in the small unincorporated village of Center Strafford. The classes held as the institute are offered to all Soldiers and Officers from all three branches of the Total Army (Active-duty, Army Reserve, National Guard) regardless of their physical location. In 2020, the courses offered at the 195th Regiment RTI included Army Basic and Small Group Instructor Training Courses, Unit Supply Specialist (for MOS 92Y), and Officer Candidate School.
