The 215th Regiment Distinctive Unit Insignia, also referred to as a unit crest or DUI for short, was approved on 4 January 2006. In its center is a lamp, a traditional symbol of knowledge and education that symbolizes the Regiment’s core mission. Behind it are three conjoined piles that suggest a mountain range, recalling the Arizona landscape around Phoenix. The wedges in the chief at the top signify a shining sun and the Arizona climate, and combined the chief and the blue field behind it recall the Arizona state flag. “Special Trust Confidence” is the Regiment’s motto.
Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
