The 307th Medical Brigade is a U.S. Army Reserve unit assigned to the 807th Medical Command (Deployment Support). It was originally constituted on 5 November 1962 in the Army Reserve as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 307th Medical Group and was activated on 7 January 1963 at Columbus, Ohio. As of Autumn 2023, it controls the 256th and 801st Combat Support Hospitals and the 409th Area Support Medical Company.
The 307th Medical Brigade Distinctive Unit Insignia employs many of the elements found in the Brigade’s Combat Serve ID Badge insignia. Two anchors (the CSIB has just one) are adapted from the coat of arms of the city of Columbus are an allusion to both that city and the surrounding Great Lakes Region that is home to the organization. A trefoil is featured in the center of the insignia because of its resemblance to a buckeye seed, recalling the state of Ohio (the “Buckeye State”), and the maroon cross is an emblem of aid and assistance commonly found on the insignia of Army Medical Department units. “Conserve By Strength” is the Brigade's motto.

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. Current regulations do not permit the DUI to be worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.Enlisted personnel wear the insignia centered on a shoulder loop by placing it an equal distance from the outside shoulder seam to the outside edge of the shoulder-loop button. Officers (except Generals) wearing grade insignia on the shoulder loops center the DUI by placing it an equal distance between the inside edge of the grade insignia and the outside edge of the button.
More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1, Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and
"Garrison Cap," respectively. Customers interested in this item may also be interested in the
