U.S. ARMY 326TH FINANCE GROUP UNIT CREST (DUI)

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. You can find more guidance on wear of the DUI in DA Pamphlet 670-1, Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.

The 326th Finance Group Distinctive Unit Insignia was approved on 21 October 1988. Golden yellow, the primary branch color of the Finance Corps, is used liberally throughout the insignia, while the secondary branch color of silver gray is used only for the diamond-shaped bow on the key—and even it contains a gold disc. A gold lion is symbol of pride and strength of the unit, grasping a key that represents the security ensure by the unit’s work. The diamond-shaped bow recalls the lozenge on the Finance Corps insignia of branch, and the disc it contains is allusion to coinage. “Serve Pay Defend” is the unit motto.

The 326th Finance Group appears to have been redesignated, inactivated, deactivated, or disbanded. However, there is a U.S. Army Reserve unit called the 326th Financial Management Support Center that is a subordinate of the 311th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, 79th Theater Sustainment Command that may have the 326th Finance Group in its lineage, but there is no documentation readily available online to verify this and it is thus only a speculation based on reasonable suppositions. Similarly, a unit named the 326th Finance Center was the recipient of a Meritorious Unit Commendation awarded on 7 February 2012 for service in Iraq between 9 January 2010 and 31 August 2010. There is a possibility that this unit may have descended from the 326th Finance Group, but again this is only speculation.
