U.S. ARMY 43RD SUSTAINMENT BRIGADE UNIT CREST (DUI)

The 43rd Sustainment Brigade Distinctive Unit Insignia—many refer to it as a “unit crest” or as a DUI for short—was originally approved for wear on 25 April 1973, while the unit was serving under the designation 43rd Support Group. The insignia was redesignated for the 43rd Sustainment Brigade on 16 April 2008, with the description and symbolism updated to reflect the change.

Effective 9 July 2015, the 43rd Sustainment Brigade was redesignated the 4th Sustainment Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, also referred to as the 4th Infantry Division Sustainment Brigade, and began wearing the 4th Infantry Division unit crest to reflect the unit's new organizational status as being fully integrated into the overall 4th Infantry Division Command at Fort Carson.

“Provide With Pride” succinctly describes the Brigade’s dedication to its mission up until its inactivation in 2015, and the importance of the creed is emphasized with red letters. A central column dominates the imagery of the insignia, emphasizing steadfast support and strength. Behind the column, a sun with streaming beams of light symbolizes the exceptional quality of service provided by the unit regardless of its designation. Wreaths of laurel bookend the sun and reflect the pride of service and numerous achievements over the years.

Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
