The Distinct Unit Insignia of the 710th Support Battalion, now serving as the 710th Brigade Support Battalion, was originally approved for the 710th Ordnance Battalion on 15 December 1954. It was redesignated for the 710th Maintenance Battalion (with an amended motto) on 1 August 1985 before being redesignated for the 710th Support Battalion on 3 April 1991. Since that time, the unit has operated as the 710th Main Support Battalion and, since September 2004, as the 710th Brigade Support Battalion.
Crimson and yellow are featured prominently in the insignia to reflect the unit’s origins in the Ordnance Corps. A blue disc on a stylized yellow mountain peak represent a glacier or ice; the crimson rope and yellow ice axe and ski staff are allusions to the unit’s first activation at Camp Carson, Colorado and its subsequent mountain training and service in the 10th Mountain Division. Additionally, the two pieces of rope recall the two World War II campaigns (North Apennines, Po Valley). OBILITAS ET VIRTUS, the Battalion motto, is Latin for “Mobility And Strength.”

As of Autumn 2023, the 710th Brigade Support Battalion is assigned to the 3rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division and is headquartered at Fort Polk, Louisiana. Since the launch of the War on Terrorism, the Battalion as a whole has been awarded a single Meritorious Unit Commendation (MUC). But an MUC was awarded to the Battalion’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) and three of its Companies (for service from 31 December 2008 to 6 December 2009) and for the HHC and four Company detachments (14 November 2013 to 15 July 2014). This is in addition to ten MUCs awarded to individual Companies in the Battalion.
