U.S. ARMY 807TH MEDICAL COMMAND UNIT CREST (DUI)

Originally approved on 25 March 1977 for the 807th Medical Brigade, the 807th Medical Command’s Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI), also called a unit crest, is a symbolic tribute to the unit’s heritage. The lion’s head in the center of the insignia represents England, the location where they unit was originally activated in 1944 as a Medical Service Detachment. Beneath the lion’s head is a fleur-de-lis, emblematic of France and the region in which the unit served with distinction during World War II. The fleur-de-lis rests on a maroon cross, symbol of medical care and compassion, which in turn sits upon a red, white, and blue disc; the colors reflect both the nation as a whole and the individual states in which the Command’s subordinate elements are stationed.

The DUI was was given its current designation with an effective date of 17 September 2022.

Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1, Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.
