LITE GOLD SHOULDER CORD
Shoulder cords are worn by members of a variety of military and military-related organizations, many of which have broad discretion over what color cords are authorized and for what reasons. Among these groups are the Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (which has different regulations for cadets in units affiliated with the Army, Air Force, and Navy/Marines) the Naval Sea Cadet Corps / Navy League Cadet Corps, and the Civil Air Patrol, to name a few of the largest and most popular. Additionally, many police forces authorize the wear of shoulder cords during ceremonial occasions or special event such as parade.
While U.S. Army regulations provide authorization for just two colors of shoulder cords (blue for Infantry personnel, blue with red and white markings for members of the service’s Marksman team), they also give considerable leeway for local commanders to prescribe the wear of colored scarves, almost always in the branch color of the wearers’ units.
