Royal blue shoulder cords are worn by Civil Air Patrol (CAP) Cadets serving as the primary members of the Cadet Advisory Council for one of the CAP’s eight regions. Blue shoulder cords are also authorized for wear by members of the U.S. Navy Sea Cadet / Navy League Corps, where it is recommended for the Color Guard Commander and Members of the Color Guard and Honor Guard, as well as by Army JROTC members engaged in band or musical activities.
Royal blue is also the color of color chords chosen by some Air Force Junior ROTC Wings to recognize membership in the AFJROTC Kitty Hawk Air Society, the organization’s Honor Society. But regulations vary wildly regarding designation of shoulder cords, and we encourage to research your own organization to verify that you are choosing shoulder cords that are the correct color for your uniform.
