BLACK PANTS BUTTONS

One of the unfortunate properties of buttons is that they can come off. For most of us this is merely a nuisance, but for Officers and enlisted Servicemembers it can be a true nightmare should it take place right before a big inspection or just as they’re about to head out for a formal affair.  

The wonderful news is that buttons are small (read: easy to store!) and inexpensive, so there’s no reason you shouldn’t have spares on hand.

Use the selection box to the right to choose the size of your backup buttons. Choose 22-ligne if you need buttons for the trousers worn with service uniforms, while 27-ligne fits the high-waisted trousers worn with Mess Dress uniforms. (“Ligne” is a unit of measurement used for the diameter of buttons and is frequently translated into “line.” A ligne or line equals 1/40th of an inch.)
