Like a Vice Division Commander, the Division Com-mander (DCDR) in the Coast Guard Auxiliary wears insignia comprised of an oak leaf—it’s gold rather than the silver used by VCDRs—and a blue capital letter “A” indicating election to office rather than through appointment by an elected Officer. And while Division Commanders are also elected to a one-year term, they are authorized to serve up four terms, with up to two being consecutive. Transferring to a different division automatically starts a new series of terms.
The Division Commander Collar Device is prescribed for wear with the Undress short-sleeve shirt and the shirt worn with the Winter Dress Blue, and the Undress Blue—Winter uniform shirt. Place the pin-on, metal insignia on the shirt stem-side down and position it so that its leading edge is parallel to and one inch away from the collar’s inner edge. Center the device vertically using the top and bottom edges of the collar as reference points.
