The gold oak leaf with a mounted red “A” used as the organizational level insignia for District Staff Officers (DSO) is also worn by Auxiliarists appointed to serve as District Commodore Administrative Assistants (D-AA) and Branch Chiefs (BC). The first two appointments are made at the District level, contingent upon approval by the Director for that District; Branch Chief are part of the National Staff.
Auxiliarists serving in these offices wear pin-on metal insignia on the collars of the Winter Dress Blue, Undress Blue—Winter, and Undress Short-Sleeve shirts. Place the device on the collar so that the A is vertically upright and its leading edge is one inch from and parallel to the collar’s inner edge, then center the device vertically using the visible top and bottom edges of the collar for reference.
