Petty Officers Second Class (PO2) wear collar rank devices as headgear insignia on the Garrison Cap and two types of Ball Caps, standard (one row of lettering) or unit (two rows).
When wearing the Garrison Cap, the Petty Officer Second Class (PO2) insignia is placed on the wearer’s left side, positioned so that the center of the insignia is one-and-a-half inches from the cap’s bottom and the leading edge (closest to front) is two inches from the front crease of the cap. Garrison Caps were widely introduced in the Coast Guard following World War II. Today, they are worn with Flight Suits and the Tropical Blue and Winter Dress Blue uniforms, and is an optional cover for the Operational Dress Uniform.
Ball caps (standard and unit) are worn with the Operational Dress Uniform and Flight Suits, with the PO2 rank device vertically centered between lettering and the brim of the cap (standard) or between the two rows of lettering (unit). Note that Commander may require rank insignia to be temporarily removed from ball caps if called for by local circumstances.
Customers who’ve purchased the PO2 Garrison Cap device in the past have also gone on to purchase our
