Coast Guard uniform regulations call for Petty Officers First Class (PO1) to wear their collar grade insignia on the Garrison Cap and the standard and unit Ball Caps.
To properly place the insignia on the Garrison Cap, position it on the wearer’s left side with the center of the insignia is 1.5” from the cap’s bottom and the leading edge of the device is 2 inches from the front crease.
On Ball Caps, insignia are worn on the front of the cap, centered both horizontally and vertically, with vertical centering dependent upon the cap style. For Unit Ball Caps with one row of lettering, center the PO1 device between the bottom of the letters the cap brm; on standard Ball Caps with two rows, center it between the bottom of letters in the upper row and the top of the letters in the bottom row.
In the past, customers who have purchased the PO1 cap device have also expressed an interest in the
Garrison Cap,
PO2 collar grade insignia, and the
Enlisted Coast Guard Combination Cap.
