All active-duty Officers in the Coast Guard, except Navy Chaplains and U.S. Public Health Service personnel, are required to own a sword, scabbard, sword belt, and a sword knot for wear with Full Dress (blue and white) uniforms. (Though not a mandatory item, Officers are also required to wear a mourning badge on swords that are worn at military funerals.) Senior Officers do have the authority to prescribe wear of Full Dress uniforms without the sword for certain individuals or when the wear of a sword would be considered inappropriate.
Manufactured in the U.S. with Mil-Spec materials to standards that meet or exceed Coast Guard regulations, our sword belt is available either in black grain leather or vinyl. The belt is 1-3/4 inches width and features 3/4-inch wide sling straps and a two-inch buckle (diameter) with gold-plate mounting.
The sword belt is worn about six inches higher than the waistline, so please measure at that location when submit your belt size in the drop-down selection box to the right.
