Designated as a unisex cover and authorized for wear by both male and female Officers since 2015, our Khaki Combination Cover for Flag Officers (Admirals, Vice Admirals, and Rear Admirals lower/upper) ships ready to wear, with all the insignia components installed. These include:
- Gold cap screws (retaining buttons) emblazoned with the Navy Eagle
- Synthetic gold chin strap crafted gold sleeve facing material
- Pin-on metal Navy Officer cap device featuring two golden, crossed fouled anchors, burnished shield, and Navy eagle gazing dexter with spread wings
And while the Navy’s uniform regulations do not classify the arcs of acorn and oak leaves as insignia, the two rows of them embroidered in brilliant gold bullion on the visor of this Combination Cap immediately signal the wearer is serving in a grade no lower than O-7 and possibly as a high as O-10.
The Khaki Combination Cover is worn with Service Khaki Uniform. In years gone by it was worn with the Service Dress Khaki uniform, made famous by iconic figures such as Nimitz and Halsey and still in strong demand by veterans and uniform collectors. Though obviously not for wear by active-duty personnel, we continue to manufacture the Officer versions of the
