Our gold-and-blue sleeve lacing is manufactured with Mil-Spec material and meets all Navy regulations. The CWO-2 sleeve lacing features a design that was also used for the Warrant Officer 1 (W-1) grade that was discontinued in 1975—a stripe made of gold lacing with 1/2-inch blue bars spaced two inches apart so that the three bars, or breaks, are symmetrically centered on the sleeve’s outer face. The only difference in the two is that the lacing used for the CWO-2 insignia, as with lacing for all current CWO grades, is 1/2-inch wide, while the W-1 lacing was only 1/4-inch in width.
CWO-2 lacing is positioned on the sleeve so that the bottom of the stripe is two inches from the sleeve’s edge. Sleeve rank insignia are worn with the male and female versions of the Formal Dress Blue, Dinner Dress Blue Jacket, Dinner Dress Blue Uniform, Full Dress Blue, and Service Dress Blue uniforms. The only white uniform on which the CWO-2 sleeve lacing is worn is the female Dinner Dress White Jacket.
