The two stars signifying the Naval Officer rank of Rear Admiral, upper half (O-8) that are worn on the shoulders of the Flight Suit must be embroidered or cloth sew-on. The stars are placed about 5/8” from the seam of the shoulder and sleeve, centered between front and rear of the shoulders with the insignia oriented so that a single ray of each star points to the collar.
Flight Suits are authorized for wear only by aircrew members and personnel taking part in flight duties or flight-related duties on a given day. In addition to embroidered or cloth sew-on grade insignia, Officers may wear the Service Khaki Garrison Gap (with appropriate insignia) or the Command/Navy Ball Cap. Approved footwear includes the standard-issue black leather Flight Boots, or flight-approved black, brown, or tan boots (laces must match, and tan boot may be worn with the tan flight suit).
Nametags are worn on the left breast, while a single command logo may be worn on the right breast. A U.S. flag is worn centered on the shoulder arch of the left sleeve of the Flight Suit, and on the right shoulder a weapons school patch (if authorized for the wearer) is similarly positioned.
