This handsome gold tie clasp features the Naval Aircrew Warfare Specialist insignia and is worn with either the
hand-tied or
pre-tied black four-in-hand necktie. It is primarily worn by Chief Petty Officers who have successfully earned the Aircrew Warfare designator, which became mandatory for Sailors serving in Navy Enlisted Classifications of 78XX, 82XX, 8401, or 94XX. (Sailors who have also earned the Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist designation are allowed to wear both breast insignia but with the NAWS insignia in a senior position.)
Chief Petty Officers with NAWS qualification may wear the tie clasp with the Full Dress Blue and Service Dress Blue uniforms. The clasp is placed an inch below the middle of the tie, and it will be covered by the uniform jacket.
