Chief Warrant Officers 3 (CWO3) authorized to wear Flight Suits must wear embroidered or cloth sew-on grade insignia (All-Weather coat size) on the suit’s shoulders. Insignia are centered fore and aft on the shoulders and positioned about 5/8-inch from the shoulder seam.
Although Flight Suits may be worn by individuals engaged in flight or flight-related duties during a working day, this authorization does not extend to ground support or non-aircrew support and maintenance personnel. Officers and CPOs have the option of wearing the Service Khaki Garrison Cap with the Flight Suit, while E1 – E6 personnel are authorized to wear the Black Unisex Garrison Cap with the Command/Navy ball cap as optional headgear.
All personnel are authorized to wear Black Leather Flight Boots with Flight Suits, and Tan boots may be worn with the Tan Flight Suit, but only CPOs and higher may wear Brown boots. Flight Boots are laced from the inside-out with laces of the same color as the boots.
