Intended solely for safely stowing your ceremonial sword, our Vitalon sword cases are made of hard synthetic leather to ensure safe handling and can accommodate small swords that fall into one of three size ranges: Small (26” to 27”), Medium (29” to 30”), and Large (31” to 33”).
Swords are typically optional items (although they are required by all enlisted members of the U.S. Marine Corps Band) and as such are purchased with the Servicemember’s own funds. The length of the sword will depend on the rules crafted by each branch of the military. In the Marine Corps, for example, the standard sword length is determined by the height of the tip of the blade when it is in carry position: it will not reach more than one inch below or above eye level. Navy swords range from 22” to 36” in length, so make sure you choose the appropriate sized case.
