Originally approved for the 258th Support Center on 14 June 1967, the 158th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI), or unit crest, features a three-branched symbol that strongly suggests cactus in the unit’s home state of Arizona.
Superimposed over the symbol is a trident that recalls the unit’s prior service in the Pacific during World War II that earned it campaign-participation credit for action in New Guinea, Luzon, and the Bismarck Archipelago. The unit was awarded two Arrowheads for taking part in the assault landings on New Guinea and Luzon, epitomizing the unit motto of "We Can We Do." As of Winter 2024, the 158th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade is allotted to the Arizona Army National Guard, where it has the distinction of being that organization's largest and most complex Brigade. It serves as the HQ for the 1st Battalion, 158th Infantry Regiment, the 253rd Engineer Battalion, the 850th Military Police Battalion, and the 365th Signal Company.

Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been
authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
For Enlisted personnel, the insignia is centered on a shoulder loop by placing it an equal distance from the outside shoulder seam to the outside edge of the shoulder-loop button. Officers (except Generals) wearing grade insignia on the shoulder loops center the DUI by placing it an equal distance between the inside edge of the grade insignia and the outside edge of the button.
Full guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e),
"Beret" and
"Garrison Cap," respectively
