Also known as a unit crest or DUI, the Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
Full guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia."

The 319th Quartermaster Battalion Distinctive Unit Insignia emphasizes the unit’s task of Petroleum Supply and Petroleum support with black interlocking figures that somewhat resemble the “infinity” symbol. The critical nature of supplying combat units with petroleum is hammered home with the motto, “Lifeline Of The Army,” while the unit’s movement control functions are symbolized by the wheel at the center of the insignia.
The 319th Quartermaster Battalion was originally constituted as an Organized Reserves unit called the 694th Quartermaster Battalion on 1 July 1936. Shortly after the U.S. entry into World War II, the unit was redesignated as the 694th Quartermaster Laundry Battalion on 1 April 1942. The Battalion was ordered into active military service in January 1943 and reorganized; in September the Battalion was broken up and reorganized and redesignated, with the old HHD becoming the HQ and HQ Detachment, 694th Quartermaster Battalion and the old Battalion’s Companies all beginning new lineages at this point.
Credited with participation in the Western Pacific campaign, the 694th Quartermaster Battalion was inactivated in February 1946 on Guam The next year, the unit was given the new designation of HQ and HQ Detachment, 319th Quartermaster Battalion. It would undergo a couple of inactivations/reactivations and several relocations, with its last recorded reactivation (per the somewhat dated information at the U.S. Army Center of Military History Web site) coming in 1980 at Cleveland, Ohio.
As of the Spring of 2023, the 319th Quartermaster Battalion is assigned t5o the 643rd Regional Support Group, 310th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, 377th Theater Sustainment Command of the United States Army Reserve. Its HQ and HQ Detachment is located in Twinsburg, Ohio, with subordinate units based in Milan, Ohio (192nd Petroleum Support Company); Delaware, Ohio (660th Movement Control Detachment); Fort Wayne, Indiana (221st Ammunition Company); and North Canton, Ohio (762nd Medium Truck Company).
