Worn today by personnel in the 3643rd Brigade Support Battalion, the Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI) of the 3643rd Support Battalion was approved on 20 July 2007. Its most prominent feature, a red chevron, is a chevron that denotes support, the unit’s primary function. The chevron’s thirteen stars are for the thirteen originally colonies; the larger, single star at the chevron’s peak represents New Hampshire, ninth state to ratify the Constitution and enter the Union and the Battalion’s location.
A pair of crossed cannons celebrates New Hampshire’s history as a Field Artillery state. The wheel below the chevron is an allusion to the transportation capabilities of the unit, while the black disc in tits center stands for a bomb shell that recalls the 3643rd Ordnance Company, an ancestral unit in the Battalion’s lineage. “Sustaining Thunder!” is the unit motto.
Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. Current regulations do not permit the DUI to be worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.

A unit in the New Hampshire Army National Guard, the 3643rd Brigade Support Battalion is assigned to the 197th Field Artillery Brigade. In addition to its Headquarters and Headquarters Battery located at Plymouth, it consists of three thee Batteries (A, B, and C), the 744th Forward Support Company, and Detachment 1, 1207th Forward Support Company.
