Also called a unit crest, the Distinctive Unit Insignia (DUI) for the 365th Support Battalion was originally approved for the 365th Supply and Service Battalion. It was subsequently redesignated for the 365th Support Battalion with a revised description on April 1994. It is now worn by personnel in the 365th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion. The black objects in the middle of the insignia’s starburst are called heraldic billets: they symbolize requisitions and are used to denote a unit’s effectiveness at supervising stock and supplies. A compass star in the center of the insignia also points to the command and control functions carried out by the Battalion.
Behind the compass star is a saltire, or “X" shape, and a fleur-de-lis; taken together they allude to the Battalion’s original locale in Jackson, Mississippi, the unit’s original location that was renowned as “Crossroads of the South” that originally began as “LeFleur’s Bluff.” “Supply Is Our Service” is the Battalion motto.
The Battalion’s campaign credits for its participation in the War on Terror are yet to be determined, but it was the recipient of a Meritorious Unit Commendation awarded in August 2008 for its outstanding service between September 2006 and September 2007 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom while assigned to the 82nd Sustainment Brigade, 13th Expeditionary Sustainment Command, Multi-National Corps-Iraq.

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, the Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
Full guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia."
