Warrant Officers 1 (WO1) wear nonsubdued pin-on grade insignia on the Garrison Cap worn with the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and on Berets, both the standard-issue Black Beret and the colored organizational Berets authorized for Airborne, Ranger, Special Forces, and Security Force Assistance Command. On the Garrison Cap, the insignia is worn on the left curtain, centered vertically and positioned one inch from the Cap's front crease. On Berets, the insignia is worn centered on the flash.
This insignia was also worn on the Garrison Cap of the old green Army Service Uniform, colloquially referred to as "Army Greens," before it was replaced by the blue Army Service Uniform. Unlike today's green Garrison Cap, which is manufactured in Heritage Green 564, these earlier Garrison Caps were manufactured in Army Green shade 489 or 491, depending on the fabric used for the Cap.
At The Salute Uniforms, we still manufacture and stock these old Garrison Gaps because of the demand not only from veterans, but also from uniform collectors, military buffs, and media production companies seeking newly manufactured versions of this iconic Army uniform item. They meet the Mil-Spec regulations that were in effect when they were still authorized for wear, with distinct types of piping to indicate the wearer’s rank type (
Enlisted,
Officer,
Warrant Officer, and
General Officer). We are also the sole manufacturer of the old Army Green uniform that was worn by Army personnel for over five decades; we offer versions made to Mil-Spec standards for
Enlisted Soldiers,
Officers, and
General Officers.
