The United States Air Force Men's Officer Service Dress Uniform features the same components as the Enlisted Service Dress Uniform but with the addition of epaulets on the shoulders for the placement or rank insignia and a stripe on each coat sleeve made of blue braid that is one-and-a-half inches wide on Generals' uniforms and a half-inch wide on the uniforms of all lower-ranked Offices.
Basic components of the Men's Officer Service Dress Uniform include:
♦ Men's Service Dress Coat (with shoulder boards)
♦ Men’s Blue Shirt (long- or short-sleeved)
♦ Trousers (no cuffs and straight-legged)
♦ Blue belt (cotton web or elastic, silver buckle and tip)
♦ Blue tie (polyester or silk herringbone twill)
♦ Black Oxford-style shoes (Dress boots optional)
♦ Service Cap or Flight Cap
♦ Nametag and US lapel insignia
♦ Chaplain, Aeronautical, Space, Cyberspace, and Missile Operation badges are mandatory
The Men's Officer Service Dress Uniform also pulls triple duty by serving as the Semi-Formal Uniform through the removal of the nametag and as the Class B or Service Blue Uniform by removing the Service Dress Coat and wearing the long- or short-sleeved shirt as the outer garment.
