Keep the chill off with our 9” x 26” black scarf, manufactured in the USA with Mil-Spec materials and designed to meet all current Air Force regulations. Its tubular design makes it easy to be tucked in when worn with an authorized outer garment, a requirement that was introduced when the Air Force added new specifications and wear guidance for the scarf in changes made to AFI 36-2903 in July 2018.
The black scarf may be worn with Physical Training Gear (i.e., the Physical Training Uniform and the Improved Physical Training Uniform), Informal Uniforms (see section 9.2 of AFI 36-2903 for full list), and the all-weather coat or overcoat worn by personnel serving in the USAF Honor Guard, USAF Band, USAF Academy Band, USAF Regional Band, or as Arlington National Cemetery Chaplains.
In years past, the Air Force authorized the wear of the gray scarf for use with outer garments, but it was eliminated from the list of approved clothing items on 31 December 2010.
