The Air Force Men’s Short-Sleeved Blue Shirt is author-ized for wear with the Class A Service Dress Uniform (with Service Dress Coat) and Class B Service Blue Uniform (no Coat). Worn by both Officers and Enlisted Airmen, the shirt’s epaulets are used only by Officers to secure shoulder marks that display their rank insignia; Enlisted personnel’s rank is displayed on sewn-on chevrons placed halfway between the shoulder seam and the bottom of the sleeve.
The shirt comes with two pleated pockets, and when worn as part of the Air Force Class A Service Dress Uniform the collar of the shirt will be visible by about a quarter- to a half-inch above the coat collar. A white undershirt (V-neck or athletic-style tank top) is worn with the shirt, which is tucked into the trousers when worn with either the Class A or Class B Uniforms.
The shirt is also worn with two U.S. Coast Guard uniforms, the Service Dress Blue Bravo and the Tropical Blue. It is also authorized for wear in the Coast Guard Auxiliary with the Men's Service Dress Blue, Undress Blue – Winter, Undress Blue – Summer (Alpha and Bravo variations), and Hot Weather Uniforms; female Auxiliarists may wear it with the Service Dress Blue and Tropical Blue Uniforms.
