US AIR FORCE ABU AND OCP NAMETAPE

Note: Please be aware that it can take up to 10 days to process the USAF engraved nametag.

Nametapes and U.S. AIR FORCE tapes are mandatory for all personnel wearing either Airman Battle Uniform (ABU) or its replacement, the Operational Camouflage Pattern uniform (OCP for short). The Air Force first made the OCP available on 1 October 2018 and set 31 March 2021 as the wear-out date for the ABU.

Last Name: Enter the name as you wish it to appear on the nametape. If you leave this selection empty, we will engrave the last name provided on the billing information associated with the order in which this item appears. Embroidering is performed with all capital letters unless you specify otherwise in the “Comments” box offered during the checkout process.
ABU/OCP: Choose the style to match the utility uniform on which the nametape will be worn. Regardless of style, the nametape should be cut or folded to match the width of the breast pocket on the wearer’s right. It is attached immediately above the pocket.
With Hook Closure/No Hook Closure: “Hook closure” is a reference to a hook-and-pile or hook-and-loop fastening system, ubiquitously referred to as Velcro. Air Force personnel are free to choose between Velcro-based insignia or standard nametapes which must be sewn on, but the same attachment method must be used for the insignia of rank, the nametape, and the U.S. AIR FORCE tape—no mixing is allowed.
