Headquartered in Round Rock, Texas, the 136th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade—also known as the Joint Task Force-136 Maneuver Enhancement Brigade—has a mission to support local, state, and Federal officials in FEMA Region VI in case of natural or manmade emergencies, as well as conducting operations involving the support of maneuver, area, management, and stability operations that ensure the mobility and freedom of action of a supported force.
Since its first deployment in 2012 in support of U.S. Army, Coalition, and Afghan forces, the Brigade has won two Meritorious Unit Commendations. The first, issued to a Detachment of the Brigade’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company on 10 December 2013, was for conducting combat operations that defeated insurgent sources while simultaneously providing training and support to the both the Afghan government and the Afghan National Security Forces. The second, issued two weeks later, was for service from September 2012 to June 2013 in which it provided Base Operating Systems-Integrator support for eight base cluster camps around Kabul and partnered with the Regional Command Capital to provide leadership and support for the two-and-a-half Afghan National Police Districts.
Also known as a unit patch, the 136th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade Shoulder Sleeve Insignia is sold in a subdued (ACU) version for wear on combat and utility uniforms, as well in a colored version that is worn on the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and was previously authorized for wear on the now-discontinued Class A/B Army Green Uniform. (We continue to manufacture and sell the Army Green Uniform in response to high demand from veterans, collectors, re-enactors, and other organizations seeking an authentic version of the uniform that, for six decades, instantly identified the wearer as Soldier in the Army.
