Self-billed as the 15th Regimental Signal Brigade on the U.S. Army Signal School Web page, the 15th Signal Brigade has been training U.S. Army Signal professionals since it was reconstituted in 1986 and transferred from Fort Monmouth, New Jersey to Fort Gordon, Georgia, ending a 41-year period of inactivation. (Note: Fort Gordon was redesignated as Fort Eisenhower in October 2023.) Dubbed Team 15, the Brigade currently has four battalions assigned to it—the 369th, 442nd, the 551st, and the Cyber Training Battalion—and an Ordnance Training detachment.
The 15th Signal Brigade Shoulder Sleeve Insignia (SSI), or unit patch, was not approved for wear until 22 December 2009. It features a yellow (gold) lightning flash serving as a bend dexter, dividing a shield into orange and white areas; the lightning reflects the speed of communications and the colored fields are the colors of the Signal Corps. A lamp with burning flame in the upper white area represents the illumination and knowledge the Brigade disseminates to its students; a signal flag in the lower orange half is taken from the Signal Corps branch insignia.
