The 807th Medical Brigade Shoulder Sleeve Insignia, or unit patch, was approved for wear on 21 May 2014, four years after the unit was created through the redesignation of the 807th Medical Group and relocated from Garden Grove, California to Seagoville, Texas. The Brigade is tasked with the command and control of units of the 807th Medical Command (Deployment Support) that are based in six Southern states.
Maroon and white are the colors of the Army Medical Department and feature prominently in almost all heraldry related to the Medical Corps. Inside an arced rectangle are two images commonly associated with compassion and the healing arts, a cross and the staff of Aesculapius (not to be confused with a caduceus, which has two intertwined serpents and winged top). The fleur-de-lis crowning the staff reflects the 176th Medical Group’s service in France during World War II, and the two stars represent the unit’s two headquarters (California and Texas).
