Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1, Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and
"Garrison Cap," respectively.

The Distinctive Unit Insignia of the 192nd Support Battalion (now referred to as the 192nd Brigade Support Battalion) was originally approved on 19 November 1970. Rich with symbolism, the insignia features at its base a chevron—always a symbol of support in heraldry—that has been modified with embattlements similar to what is seen at the top of castle walls. This simulates a fortress and symbolizes El Morro, the historic citadel built in 1584 to defend the City of San Juan.
Suerimposed on the chevron/fortress is a heraldic fountain, a circle containing wavy blue and white lines that symbolizes water; here it refers to the water and waves of San Juan Bay. Above the chevron is a millrind, an iron device placed in the center of a millstone to support it as it revolves on its axis to grind wheat and corn; like the chevron, the millrind is universally undertsood as a heraldic symbol of support. Its green hue is an allusion to the island of Puerto Rico—a country of endless springtime famed for its lush vegetation and verdant terrain.
“We Are Proud To Support,” the Battalion motto, encapsulates the enthusiasm of the Battalion personnel display in carrying out their mission of support, keenly aware that even the most skilled and technologically advanced fighting force in the world cannot succeed without it.
As of Autumn 2023, the 192nd Brigade Support Battalion is a subordinate unit of the 92nd Military Police Brigade, Puerto Rico Army National Guard.
