The 210th Finance Battalion Distinctive Unit Insignia, also called a unit crest or DUI for short, was approved on 23 January 1995. Its two primary colors, silver gray and golden yellow, are the official colors of the Finance branch and hearken back to the two most common types of “hard” currency used over the centuries. This is reinforced by the bezants that resemble coins which form a detached border along the outside of the shield portion of the insignia. In the center is a lozenge (diamond shape) that is a reference to the Finance Corps branch insignia, with a red quill in the center representing the Battalion’s administrative functions and missions. Emblazoned on a scroll attached to the shield is the unit motto, “Duty Honor.”
Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
