The 24th Corps Support Group is an inactivated unit that was a subordinate unit of First Corps Support Command. During the First Gulf War and up until 1996, the unit was designated as the 24th Support Group, and was the recipient of an Army Superior Unit Award for its service between 8 October 1994 and 5 December 1994. By 1996, the unit had been redesignated as the 24th Support Group (Corps) and its work (6 May 1996 to 31 August 1996) was recognized with a second Army Superior Unit Award (the Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 24th Support Group is also listed as a recipient of this ASUA).
Located at Fort Stewart, Georgia, the 24th Corps Support Group was composed of five units: 3rd Soldier Support Battalion, 87th Corps Support Battalion, 92nd Combat Engineer Battalion, and the 260th and 559th Quartermaster Battalions. The Web page for the group stated that the “24th Corps Support Group supports the rapid deployment by air … and … or sea … of the 3rd Infantry Division. These combat service support soldiers face daily mental and physical challenges that put there [sic] tactical and technical skills to the test.”
The unit motto of VIRTUS PER AUXILIUM translates into English as “Strength Through Support.”

Also known as a unit crest or DUI, a Distinctive Unit Insignia is worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been
authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
Enlisted personnel wear the insignia centered on a shoulder loop by placing it an equal distance from the outside shoulder seam to the outside edge of the shoulder-loop button. Officers (except Generals) wearing grade insignia on the shoulder loops center the DUI by placing it an equal distance between the inside edge of the grade insignia and the outside edge of the button.
Full guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1, Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e), "Beret" and "Garrison Cap," respectively.
