Also known as unit crests, Distinctive Unit Insignias (DUIs) are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been
authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
For Enlisted personnel, the insignia is centered on a shoulder loop by placing it an equal distance from the outside shoulder seam to the outside edge of the shoulder-loop button. Officers wearing grade insignia on the shoulder loops center the DUI by placing it an equal distance between the inside edge of the grade insignia and the outside edge of the button.
More guidance on wear of the DUI is found in DA Pamphlet 670-1,
Section 21-22, "Distinctive unit insignia" and 21–3(d) and (e),
"Beret" and
"Garrison Cap," respectively.

The Distinctive Unit Insignia of the 303rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade was approved for wear on 20 October 2010. Teal blue and yellow, two of the three colors used in the stylized Hawaiian shield in the center of the insignia, are associated with Branch Immaterial units, i.e., units not assigned to an existing Army branch.
Taken together, the shield, spear, and the green branches are allusions to the rich culture of Hawaii, home station of the unit and also the sites of its original activation. The spear also serves as a reminder of the Brigade’s duty to provide the requisite components and security forces necessary for mission success and to enhance supported units’ force mobility when engaged in maneuver warfare. PAHU IMUA, the unit motto, is a Hawiian phrase which translates into English as “Push Forward” or “Never Retreat And Always Push Forward.”
A United States Army Reserve unit, the 303rd Maneuver Enhancement Brigade’s Headquarters and Headquarters Company was constituted on 6 October 2009 and activated on 16 September 2010 at Honolulu, Hawaii. As of Winter 2024, the Brigade remains allotted to the U.S. Army Reserve as a subordinate unit of the 9th Mission Support Command. It consists of the 368th Military Police Company, 829th Signal Company, the 127th Combat Hospital, and the 411th Engineer Battalion and three Engineer Companies (297th, 797th, and 871st). Also attached to the Brigade is the 25th Infantry Division Main Command Post Operational Detachment (MCP-OD), a unit defined on the official U.S. Army Website as being composed of U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard components that are attached to active duty Army units to assist with operations and share responsibilities.
