The 348th Personnel Group Distinctive Unit Insignia, also called a unit crest or a DUI, features a red trefoil that commemorates the World War II service of units in the Battalion’s lineage, with the four points of the superimposed star symbolizing the Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe campaigns. A starburst represents the various functions of the unit, as well as suggesting the Mississippi River delta and Louisiana, the location of the Personnel Group while it was still active. "Diligence In Motion” is the unit motto.
Originally authorized for the 348th Personnel and Administration Battalion on 12 January 1987, this insignia was then redesignated for the 348th Personnel Group with an effective date of 17 September 1991 and its description and symbolism revised.
Distinctive Unit Insignias are worn by all Soldiers (except General Officers) in units that have been authorized to be issued the device. It is worn centered on the shoulder loops of the Army Green Service Uniform (AGSU) and the blue Army Service Uniform (ASU, Enlisted only) with the base of the insignia toward the outside shoulder seam. DUIs are not worn on the Dress variations of either uniform, however.
