Approved for wear on 23 December 2005, the 37th Transportation Group Shoulder Sleeve Insignis (SSI), or unit patch, features a shieldlike shape with imagery rendered primarily in the Transportation Corps’ branch colors of brick red and golden yellow.
The insignia is divided into upper and lower halves. In the upper portion, is a rising sun with four golden yellow rays emanating from it, a reference to the center of command from which all strength is sourced. Four rays allude to the four World War II campaigns in which the unit participated: Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, North Apennines, and Po Valley.
A black arrow with golden yellow dashes in the lower portion suggests is visual representation of the Transportation Corps role as the “Spearhead of Logistics.” The yellow dashes on the arrow suggest a roadway in general and the German autobahn in particular, an allusion to the unit’s history of supporting U.S. Army operations in Europe.
